An expert committee will be formed soon to check the structural issues and decide on the renovation of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) terminal building in Kozhikode city, Transport Minister C.P. John has said.

The Minister was speaking after inspecting the terminal on Mavoor Road on Friday (August 13). The building is owned by the Kerala Transport Development Finance Corporation (KTDFC), and a related case is pending before the Kerala High Court.

Mr. John said the expert committee would examine the alleged defects in the construction of the terminal and submit a report. A decision on the renovation would be taken only based on the committee’s findings, he added.

The Minister pointed out that transport management committees were functioning at all KSRTC depots to address issues concerning depot buildings and undertake necessary maintenance and repair works.

During his visit, Mr. John also inspected the portion of the roof of the terminal’s waiting area that had fallen off and the leakage reported on the first floor. K. Jayanth, MLA, Assistant Transport Officer P.K. Prashobh, and depot engineer Sumesh Soman accompanied the Minister.
