Pandora is coming to California. A few years back, Disney announced it would open its second Avatar-themed theme park area at Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, CA. Since then, rumors have swirled that the project had been cancelled, thanks to the stellar, but not as stellar, grosses for Avatar: Fire and Ash. But those rumors can be put to bed. At D23, Disney Imagineering revealed the first official look at the new Avatar area in California, and it’s massive.

How massive? Well, it’s kind of hard to tell from the first photo, but look at this one.

That’s the Disney Monorail flying past Pandora. The monorail is pretty big. But Pandora just dwarfs it completely. It’s going to basically overflow from the theme park like some kind of green explosion.

While specific details probably won’t be revealed until the Disney Parks panel Saturday night at D23, we do know that this Pandora will have a large-scale boat ride at its center. Here are a few more images of the whole shebang.

Of course, though this is incredibly big, it still pales in comparison to the original Disney Avatar land. The version of Pandora located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in Orlando, Florida, still looks to be three, maybe four times, this size. But it’s not like that’s going anywhere. In a few years, we’ll be able to visit Pandora on both coasts.

We’ll have more on this new Avatar expansion later at D23.
