According to the Sacnilk report, the Sunny Deol and
Preity Zinta starrer minted Rs 5.75 crore across 8,721 shows in India. With that, the total India net collection stands at Rs 5.75 crore, while the total India gross collection is Rs 6.84 crore.
Overseas, the film has grossed a total of Rs 1.50 crore in gross collections on Day 1, pushing its total worldwide gross collection to Rs 8.34 crore.
Occupancy
As per the report, the overall occupancy of the film was 15.42% on Day 1, with night screenings contributing the most.
Box office clash with 'Awarapan 2'
'Batwara 1947' clashed with 'Awarapan 2' at the box office. Emraan Hashmi's romantic drama was already ahead of the Sunny Deol starrer with its massive advance bookings. On the opening day, the romantic sequel went on to earn Rs 21 crore net at the box office.
Apart from 'Awarapan', the Rajkumar Santoshi movie is also competing against the already blockbuster Hollywood flick 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day', starring Tom Holland, which was released in India on July 30.

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the story of the film is based on Asghar Wajahat's drama 'Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai'. The movie is considered the comeback of Preity Zinta, who has been away from films for eight years. Apart from the lead pair, the film also features Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal, Abhimanyu Singh, Khushi Hajare, Kanikka Kapur, and Isha Sandhir.
The movie was released in cinemas on August 14, 2026.
