A mass bike ride through South Auckland today passed without major safety issues or unlawful behaviour, police say, although one rider was arrested for an unrelated robbery.

Officers maintained a visible presence throughout the event, which began at 11am from various locations in Manurewa before concluding about 3pm in Greenmeadows,
