Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, said this in an interview with Ukrinform.

Asked where the situation in the region would likely be the most difficult in winter, he said it would probably be in Bilenke.

"The enemy is using Bilenke as a training ground. Unfortunately, that is the case. Why? Because of its proximity to the front line [...] it is essentially across the river. This is the most difficult area for us right now,” he said.

To ensure timely and up-to-date information about the situation in frontline communities, Fedorov assigned all of his deputies to specific frontline districts two weeks ago.

"As long as we can keep life going there, we will keep the war from reaching Zaporizhzhia. Once a week, my deputies work in the communities. They focus on restoring utilities, communications and internet access, as well as transportation links. We have to do everything we can to keep life going there," Fedorov added.

It was previously reported that the Zaporizhstal steelworks sustained significant damage as a result of Russian attacks. The plant's operations have been temporarily suspended.

As reported, Russian forces carried out an airstrike on Bilenke in the Zaporizhzhia region on July 22, killing a man.
