Police arrested a man for allegedly harassing a woman and attempting to attack her with a hunting sickle at Bommana Cheruvu village near Madanapalle in Annamayya district.

The accused, identified as Rajesh, was arrested by Madanapalle Rural police during the investigation on Saturday.

According to police, Rajesh allegedly harassed the woman and later tried to attack her with the weapon. Following his arrest, police took him from the station to district court in Madanapalle on foot. The court subsequently remanded him in judicial custody for 14 days.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Dheeraj Kunubilli warned that strict action would be taken against those harassing or threatening women. He urged women facing harassment or intimidation to approach the police without fear.
