Tense moments were witnessed during the 80th Independence Day celebrations in Tirupati on Saturday, when the district in-charge Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, who holds the Endowments portfolio, fainted on the stage while addressing the public after hoisting the Tricolour at the Police Parade Grounds.

When the Minister was about to collapse, his security personnel caught hold of him, and the medical team at the spot administered him first aid.

After his condition was declared safe, the Minister continued to participate in the celebrations.
