I've been getting a surprisingly decent night's sleep, despite having to endure London's fifth heatwave.
Alongside having two Dyson fans running in the bedroom, I'm sure my new mattress from Sleepeezee has something to do with it.
I've been trialling the brand's Regency Kenilworth 1600 Pocket Sprung Mattress, available exclusively from Dreams.
Designed to deliver a luxurious night's sleep fit for royalty, the mattress is crafted with sustainable bamboo to help regulate body temperature - ideal for keeping cool during the summer months.
There's some serious royal pedigree behind the brand, too. Sleepeezee has held a Royal Warrant from King Charles for more than 60 years. That's got to count for something, right?
Sleepeezee offers a total of 10 mattresses, ranging from traditional pocket-sprung designs to hybrid memory foam and spring models, with a choice of firmness levels to suit different sleeping preferences.

Our verdict
The Regency Kenilworth 1600 Pocket Sprung Mattress is one of the firmest mattresses in the Sleepeezee range, with a 'very firm' rating.
Made in the UK, it features naturally breathable bamboo fillings, an antibacterial bamboo-blend damask cover and edge support designed to prevent that uncomfortable roll-off feeling.
As someone who suffers from chronic lower back pain, I appreciate a firm mattress with plenty of support. However, I may have underestimated just how firm this mattress would feel - it really is very firm.
My husband Tim, who is 6ft 3in, was immediately sold. He dislikes any sensation of sinking into a mattress, so it was right up his street. For me, however, it took several days to adjust to the new sleeping surface.
Once I had, I found that the mattress provided excellent support and, importantly, helped to alleviate my lower back pain. The 1,600 individually wrapped pocket springs provide a reassuringly supportive feel without transferring too much movement across the bed.
The adaptive pocket springs are designed to keep your back, shoulders and hips aligned while providing full-body support and minimising partner disturbance. After all, is there anything worse than being woken up every time your partner rolls over?
Sustainability is another area where Sleepeezee scores highly. As well as holding a Royal Warrant, the company has Planet Mark certification and is a certified Carbon Neutral Organisation, reflecting its commitment to making more sustainable choices.

Performance
From the moment I unpacked it, the quality of the mattress was evident. It has a substantial thickness and plush damask cover, while still providing the firm, supportive feel you would expect from a 'very firm' mattress.
As mentioned, it took me several days to adjust to the firmness, so this is something to bear in mind if you're used to a softer or more forgiving mattress. That said, once I'd adapted, I found it exceptionally supportive, particularly around my lower back.
The mattress comprises six layers: an antibacterial bamboo cover, a bamboo comfort layer, a soft polycotton comfort layer, a polyester comfort layer, individually wrapped pocket springs and a further polyester comfort layer.
The bamboo construction has been particularly welcome during the recent heatwaves. It's naturally breathable and helps regulate temperature, meaning the mattress doesn't feel excessively warm during the night.
For us, that has been a genuine advantage during the summer.
Design and packaging
I ordered a double mattress, measuring 190cm x 135cm x 23cm and weighing 39kg. It arrived as a full-sized mattress rather than being rolled or compressed.
Dreams offers free delivery to your door on all orders, although you can upgrade to its Room of Your Choice service for an additional cost. This could be worth considering if you don't fancy manoeuvring a heavy mattress up the stairs yourself.
Our mattress arrived slightly ahead of the allocated delivery slot, so I wasn't quite prepared and ended up asking the friendly delivery team to leave it downstairs. My advice would be to make sure you're ready for delivery and have cleared a suitable route beforehand.
Visually, the mattress has a luxurious appearance, as you'd expect from a brand with such a long royal association. I particularly like the plush damask cover and the overall thickness. It's not excessively deep, but it feels substantial enough to give the bed a premium finish.

Value for money
At £1,499 for a double, the Regency Kenilworth 1600 sits towards the premium end of the mattress market, but I think the price is competitive given the materials, construction and level of support on offer.
It also comes with a 10-year guarantee, which adds some reassurance if you're looking for a mattress designed to last.
If you prefer a softer mattress or like a sinking sensation, this probably isn't the one for you.
How does it rate online
The mattress currently has an impressive 4.7 out of 5 stars from 50 reviews on the brand's website.
Customers praise its balance of firmness and comfort, with some saying it has helped reduce nighttime tossing and turning and left them feeling more refreshed in the morning.
Others highlight the firm support, particularly when it comes to back comfort and spinal alignment.
Reviewers also praise the premium construction, including the 1,600 pocket springs and breathable bamboo cover.
