A major police operation has unfolded in west Auckland early this morning.

The operation, which police have confirmed was tied to an “ongoing police investigation”, began around 5am in Henderson and concluded shortly before 7am.

Bystanders reported seeing nearly two dozen police cars, members of the Armed Offenders Squad
