According to Ukrinform, Zaporizhzhia Regional Governor Ivan Fedorov announced this on Telegram following a meeting with a UNHCR delegation.

"Support for the Zaporizhzhia region must keep pace with the challenges that are growing today. I met with a UNHCR delegation, including Bernadette Castel-Hollingsworth, UNHCR Representative in Ukraine. We reviewed the assistance the organization has provided to the region since the beginning of 2026 and discussed further cooperation. I also expressed my particular gratitude to Federico Sersale, who is completing his tenure as head of the Dnipro Sub Office, for his support for our region," Fedorov wrote.

According to him, the meeting resulted in an agreement to increase assistance to people affected by enemy attacks, as the growing intensity of strikes is making such support increasingly necessary. It is also planned to install 50 mobile shelters in cooperation with UNHCR by the end of October.

Fedorov also appealed to his colleagues for support for 149 apartment buildings whose essential services depend directly on electricity, saying a solution is needed to ensure their stable operation during prolonged power outages.
