A yellow alert would also be in effect from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., and 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The grid operator declared the electricity alerts because two coal plants in the region were unavailable and they had limited imports from Mindanao.

In a yellow alert, the power supply can still meet demand, but it will serve as a warning that when a plant breaks down one way or another, it will result in brownouts. A red alert indicates that the power supply cannot meet the demand, which increases the risk of rotational brownouts unless someone curtails the demand. /pai
