Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Sanjeev Jha on Sunday (August 16, 2026) wrote to Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu seeking a thorough investigation into alleged scams committed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in procurement of bicycles, medicines, and rice.
On August 12, the BJP had dismissed all the allegations as “baseless” and claimed that the AAP was “rattled by their government’s welfare schemes”.
In a post on X on Sunday, Mr. Jha said: “I have written a letter to the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Delhi providing detailed information, documents, and other important facts related to the serious cases of the bicycle scam, medicine scam, and rice scam, and have urged him to ensure a fair and thorough investigation into these matters.” He said that it is extremely important that the facts related to these cases come to light and appropriate action is taken against the guilty.
“On any serious issue concerning the interests of the people of Delhi, the AAP and the Opposition will fulfil their responsibility with full strength,” he said.
Mr. Jha said in the letter that a delegation of all Opposition MLAs, along with AAP state president Saurabh Bharadwaj, wanted to meet the L-G to present all available information and documents related to these matters.
“Our objective is to place factual information on these serious matters before the L-G and draw his attention to the need for an investigation and appropriate action. We hope that, considering the seriousness of these matters, the L-G will provide the delegation an appointment at the earliest,” he added.
