OpenAI has announced a new initiative called the ChatGPT for small business program. Meanwhile, the company touts reaching 10M ChatGPT Work and Codex users.

ChatGPT for small business program

OpenAI says its new ChatGPT for small business program is “an initiative to help small businesses be more productive and scale their businesses with ChatGPT.”

The program entails four key parts. These include access to hands on virtual training, attending in-person small business AI academies in the U.S., helpful guides for getting started with ChatGPT, and access to new agents and partners specifically made for small businesses.

OpenAI has a form where small businesses can sign up to join.

ChatGPT Work and Codex reach 10M users

The effort is part of an overall push to promote ChatGPT Work, a more agentic version of ChatGPT that can be used for wider productivity tasks beyond chatbot responses.

OpenAI’s 10M user milestone for ChatGPT Work and Codex doubles the user base of Codex alone earlier in July.

OpenAI replaced its desktop app this month with a version based on its standalone Codex app, adding more advanced capabilities that also added complexity to the basic chat interface. The app has since been updated a few times to strike a better balance between chat and tasks.
