As reported by Ukrinform, the head of state announced this on Facebook.

“The Minister of Defense briefed me on protecting our cities, communities, and frontline logistics from Russian drones. More resources need to be channelled to these efforts. Together with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we identified what additional organizational steps can strengthen our defense across these most intense sectors. I instructed that the personnel decisions proposed by the Commander-in-Chief should be prepared,” Zelensky said.

He also noted that the briefing included extensive details on the situation in the Donetsk region, including the situation in Kostiantynivka and the Sloviansk and Pokrovsk sectors.

“We have updated information on the Russian army’s objectives in the respective areas and are preparing our countermeasures. I thank all our units that are truly defending their positions and deftly using the necessary types of drones,” the President said.

According to Zelensky, the meeting also addressed the profress of long-range operations during the first half of August. In particular, the priorities for deep-strike operations in the coming weeks and in September were confirmed. Zelensky emphasized that “the verified losses Russia has suffered prove that our long-range strategy is on the right track.”

As reported, according to the General Staff, 236 combat engagements between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops were recorded on August 16. The largest number of Russian attacks took place in the Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka and Sloviansk sectors.
