Apple publishes security release notes for iOS 26.6.1 and more

iOS 27 is right around the corner, but today Apple released a security-focused software update for iOS 26 and also companion platforms like macOS and visionOS.

iOS 26.6.1 is available now and, per Apple’s security release notes, it fixes over 20 security vulnerabilities on iPhone.

Most of the fixes involve WebKit, but there are also patches related to Audio, ImageIO, Kernel, and more.

visionOS 26.6.1 notes have not yet been published. Apple’s website only says they’re “coming soon.” But the vast majority of the details are expected to be identical to Apple’s other platforms.

Since we’re only weeks away from iOS 27’s expected launch date, it’s very possible today’s updates are the last we’ll see until iOS 27 arrives.

Apple recently suggested that it plans to ship software updates with security fixes more regularly moving forward. That’s due to the increased risk of AI-powered hacking attempts.
