The grid operator will place the grid under yellow alert from Grid operators will raise a yellow alert from 1–3 p.m. and 9–10 p.m.
As of 8 a.m., the available capacity of the grid was 2,410 megawatts (MW) while the peak demand was 2,502 MW.
In a yellow alert, the power supply can still meet demand, but it will serve as a warning that when a plant breaks down one way or another, it will result in brownouts. A red alert indicates that the power supply cannot meet the demand, which increases the risk of rotational brownouts unless someone curtails the demand. /pai
