Meralco nears power restoration in habagat-hit areas

MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) has restored power services in most areas affected by the habagat, reducing the number of impacted customers from 10,000 to around 2,000 by Tuesday morning. 10,000 a day ago.

“Our crews and field personnel are working overtime to address concerns and safely restore power in areas affected by the habagat,” Meralco vice president and head of Corporate Communications Joe R. Zaldarriaga said in a statement.
