The peak hour traffic turned into a nightmare for motorist trying to navigate through the KBR Park’s out roads in Hyderabad on Tuesday (August 18, 2026). Even after the road was made one-way, there was bumper-to-bumper traffic on the road that usually sees congestion at signals.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police implemented a one-way movement of traffic around KBR Park from Tuesday morning to ensure smoother flow of traffic and to facilitate the construction of infrastructure projects that are part of the H-CITI project.
Cars and two-wheelers backed up for hundreds of meters on the connecting roads of Road no. 14, Rd no. 12, Road no. 10 and the gridlock spilled over to Srinagar Colony and Yousufguda areas as well by 11 a.m. “Stupid move. Horrible traffic. Everyone moving in the same direction, choking up traffic on already small choked up roads,” fumed a motorist going towards her office on Road no. 12, Banjara Hills.
Bus passengers in confusion
The confusion began right in the morning when bus passengers tried to find their usual parking bays but they were moved due to the one-way traffic. Many bus passengers could not get information about where to board their TGSRTC bus.
Pedestrians worst hit
Among the worst hit were the pedestrians who had to cross the road either for work or catch their transport. “You can cross at the signal near the entrance of the KBR Park where there is a signal. Yes, we are getting complaints about the difficulty for pedestrians at other sites and we will try to find a solution,” said a traffic official who was among the hundreds of uniformed men deployed to implement the one-way rule.
