Everything's gotten expensive. It's a new part of life that we have to get used to because it doesn't look like prices for the basics and luxuries won't be coming down anytime soon. So, it has become increasingly important in 2026 to be able to find things we want and need when they're on sale.

Those looking for a phone that can tackle daily needs like calls, texts, and surfing the web, while also providing good battery life, should look no further than the Moto G Play. This phone not only delivers, but it does so at an extremely affordable price of just $100 right now.

We loved it, and you will to

We got a chance to review this phone and were blown away by what it offered. So, as you can imagine, this phone easily becomes a no-brainer at its currently discounted price of $100. We loved its responsive Snapdragon processor, solid battery life, and dependable cameras.

And while we wish the screen could get brighter for when it's extremely bright out, for the most part, things were good. The Moto G Play even has a 90Hz screen, which keeps things feeling buttery smooth when scrolling around and navigating web pages. While you can game on this device, it isn't going to be an absolute beast.

There's a 50MP camera on the rear, along with an 8MP front-facing camera. While the storage isn't all that great at just 64GB, you do get room for expansion via the microSD card slot. The charging peaks at 15W, so just be sure to charge your phone when you need to. But we think most people will easily be able to go all day without a charge.

Motorola builds some of the best budget phones on the market right now. For someone who's looking for an affordable model that can get the basics done, the Moto G Play is going to be an easy choice.

With a price tag of $150, you wouldn't expect much from the Moto G Play 2024, but you might be surprised. Its 6.5-inch display has a respectable 90Hz refresh rate, and it's clad in Gorilla Glass for better fall protection. A Snapdragon 680 processor and 4GB of RAM should make for a respectable performance experience, and Motorola's clean software should help on that front as well. All told, it's a solid option for people with a restrictive budget.
