The 80th meeting of the Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC) of Thiruvananthapuram Railway Division held here on Thursday (July 23, 2026) reviewed the division’s performance, progress of ongoing infrastructure projects and passenger-centric initiatives, besides obtaining feedback from representatives of railway users.
During the session, DRUCC members placed several suggestions relating to introduction of new train services, increased train frequency, additional stoppages, station redevelopment, road overbridges, passenger amenities and accessibility improvements. In response to their suggestions, railway officials assured that all feasible proposals would be pursued at the divisional level and policy matters would be forwarded to the competent authorities for consideration.
Divyakant Chandrakar, divisional railway manager, who addressed the meeting, lauded the suggestions by the committee and reaffirmed the division’s commitment to continuous improvement in passenger services. He also stated that Thiruvananthapuram Division remains focused on strengthening railway infrastructure, enhancing operational capacity and providing safe and comfortable travel experience for passengers. Nithin Norbert, senior divisional commercial manager and secretary, DRUCC, presented the division’s performance highlights.
