More than a decade and a half ago, Bruno Mars released his debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans. By that point, he had scored a few hits on the charts, largely with other acts, and it was his initial full-length that turned him into a true hitmaker and global powerhouse.

Since then, Mars has only dropped a few additional collections, including one as one-half of the superduo Silk Sonic, as he likes to space his projects out by many years, letting each one breathe and produce multiple hit singles. This year has been all about The Romantic, Mars’s fourth solo offering and his first entirely on his own in nearly a decade. Even as the singer-songwriter promotes The Romantic via tunes like “I Just Might” and “Risk It All,” Doo-Wops & Hooligans continues to perform well all around the world. In the United Kingdom, the album reaches a milestone that none of Mars’s other full-lengths have even approached.

Bruno Mars Reaches 450 Weeks

Doo-Wops & Hooligans drops just outside the top 40 on the Official Albums chart this week. After settling at No. 39 last frame, the set slips to No. 46.

As of this period, Doo-Wops & Hooligans has now spent 450 weeks as one of the 100 most-consumed albums and EPs of any style in the U.K. The roster is built each frame using both sales and streaming activity.

Bruno Mars’s Debut Is Easily His Longest-Charting Album

Doo-Wops & Hooligans is easily Mars’s longest-charting effort on the Official Albums ranking, and it is his only release to pass triple-digit frames on the tally. The debut project’s follow-up Unorthodox Jukebox ranks as his second-longest-running full-length, with just 85 weeks. 24K Magic comes next with 81, while The Romantic has spent 12 periods on the roster so far – a total that will likely continue to grow.

An Evening with Silk Sonic, credited to Silk Sonic as well as Mars and Anderson .Paak, did not even make it to 10 weeks.

Aside from Doo-Wops & Hooligans, Mars’s four other efforts that have appeared on the Official Albums chart have racked up a combined 187 weeks on the list. That is less than half as many as the set that produced many of his signature smashes and turned him into a chart-topper.

Doo-Wops & Hooligans Appears on Three Charts

Doo-Wops & Hooligans appears on three U.K. rankings this week, and it falls on all of them. The studio LP lands on the Official Albums Streaming, Official Albums and Official Physical Albums charts at Nos. 39, 46 and 96, respectively.

The collection has now spent more than 400 weeks on both the main albums roster and the streaming-focused list. It has yet to crack 200 frames on the Official Physical Albums chart.

Bruno Mars’s The Romantic Falls on Three U.K. Rankings

The Romantic also appears on three U.K. charts this week, though not the same trio as Doo-Wops & Hooligans. Mars’s newest solo full-length is present on the Official Albums Sales, Official Album Downloads and Official Physical Albums rankings, and it declines on all of them.

Notably, The Romantic is no longer present on the Official Albums chart, even as Doo-Wops & Hooligans – which was released roughly a decade and a half earlier – continues to perform well on the country’s main albums roster. At the same time, An Evening with Silk Sonic with Anderson .Paak declines on the only U.K. tally where it currently appears, the Official Hip-Hop and R&B Albums chart.
