The Andhra Pradesh government has fixed an honourarium of ₹30,000 per month for Gurajada Venkateswara Prasad, the great-grandson of eminent writer Gurajada Apparao, for preserving the writer's house near Vizianagaram Fort.

Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad issued the orders in this regard and said that Andhra Pradesh State Creativity and Cultural Commission would sanction the amount to Mr. Prasad for lifetime.

Addressing the media, Mr. Prasad and his wife G. Indira thanked the government for recognising the relentless services of the family for protecting the house.

Ms. Indira said that the government had been promptly responding whenever house repairs, renovations, and other issues were brought to the notice of the higher officials of Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation.

She hoped that the government would construct an auditorium soon, saying that funds have been alocated for the purpose a few months ago.
