Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reportedly pulled up Ministers for “failing to effectively communicate” the coalition government’s achievements to the public, while accusing the opposition YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) of attempting to “manufacture political controversies” over key government initiatives.

Speaking at the State Cabinet meeting after the agenda items were concluded on Thursday, Mr. Naidu is learnt to have said that the YSRCP was trying to link the State’s Mega DSC teacher recruitment drive with the ongoing protests in New Delhi, describing the move as part of the Opposition’s strategy to create unnecessary controversies. “Creating controversies is the nature of the axe party,” he said, referring to the YSRCP, and asked the Ministers to remain vigilant against such political narratives.

The Chief Minister expressed dissatisfaction over the Ministers’ public outreach, saying that although they had addressed the media to mark the coalition government’s completion of two years in office, they had failed to effectively take the government’s achievements to the people. “Engage more actively with the public and ensure welfare and development initiatives are communicated at the grassroots level,” he said.

Mr. Naidu also directed the Ministers to take greater ownership of their departments, saying they were lagging in several areas. He instructed them to resolve departmental issues proactively and asked the Ministers and MLAs to explain major government decisions, including the removal of long-pending land parcels from the prohibited list, to the public.

Emphasising administrative coordination, Mr. Naidu said district in-charge Ministers and district Collectors should work together and undertake joint field visits. Such a coordinated action would help resolve most local issues efficiently, he remarked.

Praise for Lokesh

Praising Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh, the Chief Minister said his personal involvement in distributing house-site pattas to beneficiaries in Mangalagiri should serve as a model for Ministers and legislators across the State.

Referring to recent law-and-order incidents, including the road accident involving the son of former Minister Seediri Appalaraju in Palasa and the theft of an Anjaneya Swamy idol in Tirupati, Mr. Naidu said CCTV surveillance had helped identify the accused, highlighting the importance of technology in policing.

On the Mega DSC controversy, Mr. Naidu claimed the Opposition’s allegations had failed to convince the public and had not found favour in court. He alleged that the YSRCP was attempting to draw parallels between the recruitment issue and the NEET-related protests in New Delhi for political gain.

The Chief Minister also called for closer monitoring of governance and implementation, directing Ministers to ensure that government decisions and development programmes reached people effectively while remaining alert to what he described as Opposition attempts to politicise administrative issues.
