FPL team: Five goalkeepers you should consider picking for Gameweek 1
The Independent’s Jamie Braidwood has picked out goalkeepers you should consider signing...
- David Raya- (£6.0m) -Let’s start with an obvious one. Raya has registered the most clean sheets in each of the last three Premier League seasons and has only missed one game in two years, making him an excellent selection ahead of Arsenal’s opening game against Coventry.
- Jordan Pickford- (£5.5m) -The England shot-stopper has been a consistent performer for Everton for a number of years and has played every game in the last three Premier League campaigns. He gets tested much more frequently than Raya which could allow him to rack up points through saves.
- Caoimhín Kelleher (£5.0m) -Kelleher is a little cheaper than Pickford but has now fully established himself as Brentford’s No 1 and helped the club secure a top-half finish last season. He also has an excellent penalty record.
- Senne Lammens- (£5.0m) -The Belgian star made a rare error at the World Cup that cost his team against Spain but he was rock-solid for much of last season for Manchester United. He was called into action far more regularly than Raya but stod up to the challenge and will fancy his chances of keeping a clean sheet when United face Hull on the opening weekend.
- Antonin Kinsky (£4.5m) -Kinsky bounced back brilliantly from a nightmare performance against Atletico Madrid to play a crucial role in Tottenham securing Premier League survival. He is now Tottenham’s confirmed No 1 under Roberto De Zerbi and should only get better this season.
