The rarely-seen granddaughter of Norway's King Harald V will appear on the country's version of Strictly Come Dancing this autumn.

Leah Isadora Behn, the second daughter of former Princess Martha Louise, confirmed her participation in the forthcoming season of Skal vi danse, which translates to Shall We Dance, in an Instagram post yesterday.

The 21-year-old Norwegian royal announced the news by sharing her official portrait for the popular reality TV show, which is part of the International Dancing with the Stars franchise.

Her translated caption read: 'Surprise!!! This fall will be crazy.'

Leah, who was born during Martha Louise's first marriage to late Norwegian author Ari Behn, looked glamorous in a blue strapless gown and bright pink stilettos and a matching bracelet.

The model wore her shoulder-length blonde hair in loose waves and finished her ballroom-ready look with a pair of delicate hoop earrings.

Leah is one of Martha Louise's three daughters with Mr Behn, who died by suicide on Christmas Day in 2019.

Her older sister Maud Angelica Behn, who is fifth in line to the throne, is an artist, while 17-year-old Emma Tallulah Behn is an accomplished showjumper. They do not have royal titles and are not working members of the family.

All three were present for their mother's three-day wedding to self-styled American shaman Durek Verrrett in the picturesque Norwegian fjords nearly two years ago.

Leah was a bridesmaid alongside her sisters, who donned matching shimmery champagne-coloured frocks by Norwegian designer Rikke Boe, for the ceremony.

After falling in love with Durek, a self-styled spiritual healer-slash-conspiracy theorist, depending on who you ask, Martha Louise relinquished her royal duties in a move coined ‘Norway’s Megxit’.

But the pair still stand accused of profiteering from their royal status while complaining about the unwanted attention.

A documentary called Rebel Royals: An Unlikely Love Story charted the run-up to their 2024 wedding, which sparked public outcry over his 'controversial' past.

At one point in the docuseries, Verrett took a swipe at King Harald and Queen Sonja as he admitted they thought 'everything I did was wrong'.

He also questioned why nothing was initially done to protect him from racist online attacks after his engagement to the former Märtha Louise.

Verrett added that it wasn't until Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey that the King checked up on him.

The self-styled spiritual guru claimed the only reason Harald, 89, reached out was out of concern that he would 'be the next one on Oprah' in a new Netflix docuseries about the couple's relationship.

Verrett, 51, has described himself as a ‘hybrid species of reptilian and Andromeda’ (referring to the galaxy which is supposedly home to highly evolved spiritual beings in New Age philosophy) and claims he met Martha Louise in another life when he was a Pharaoh in Egypt.

In a 2019 book that was subsequently withdrawn by its Norwegian publishers, Verrett claimed that chemotherapy is ineffective and childhood cancer arises from a child’s unhappiness and subconscious desire not to live.

Verrett has since acknowledged that some of his views are controversial and said it was never his ‘intention’ to cause a problem for the Norwegian royal family.

Then, two months after Netflix released the trailer, Shaman Durek was forced to deny sexually assaulting Swedish father-of-two, Joakim Boström, 50.

Boström accused the royal of 'grabbing his penis' and 'trying to have sex with him' in one of his 'spiritual' sessions.

The American Shaman denied the claims and said he has a 'legal document' in place to protect him.

Speaking to Norwegian newspaper Se og Hør, Boström claimed the pair met in New York in 2015. He says he decided to book one of his sessions because he is 'spiritually curious'.

Mr Boström alleged that the Shaman quickly 'crossed a line' and flirted with him.

'It wasn't just in the session that he crossed the line. When I think back on it, he always had a sexualised behaviour and he would always touch me. It was tiring.'

He added: 'The fact that he is inside the Norwegian royal house is absolutely sick. In my opinion, Durek is looking for power and position. That so few see through him is absolutely incredible.'

Earlier this year it was revealed that Martha Louise and her husband will feature in Alternative Norway, a six-part reality series showcasing 'intimate' insight into the country's esoteric scene, which is set to be broadcast in autumn, the Times reported.

Verrett said in the trailer: 'I am connected to God, and if that makes people uncomfortable - well, then you're going to be very uncomfortable.'

In addition to the royal couple, the show will feature clairvoyants, animal interpreters, and the 'breathing instructor' son of Norway's prime minister, Jonas Gahr Store.

Martha Louise's first wedding to Mr Behn was also controversial; the pair faced heavy criticism because the self-styled Bohemian author and artist was not considered to be a suitable partner for the royal.

They married in a lavish ceremony at the historic Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim in 2002 but chose to flee to London ten years later following sustained scrutiny of their married life.

They began divorce proceedings in 2016 because, as the former princess said, they had 'grown apart from one another' and 'no longer meet like we did before'.

'We have tried everything over a long period of time, and when we still can't meet where we did before, it's impossible for us to continue,' she said at the time.

In the BBC interview, Martha spoke about her first husband and the 'criticism' he faced.

She said: 'His mental health depended a lot on him getting criticism in the media.

'But I am not saying it was anyone's fault. It is always how you handle criticism. The press took self-criticism after he died, that they were perhaps a little harsh towards him, and that he only received criticism and was actually a very nice person.'

After the divorce, Mr Behn wrote a book Inferno, which critics described as 'oozing with despair and sadness' and describes his struggles with mental health, headaches, hallucinations and difficulty breathing.
