Samsung Galaxy owners just got an entire warranty and care hub that’s very conveniently located right inside the Settings menu in One UI 9.

The hub is on Samsung’s latest trio of foldables: the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. It makes for one place for warranty tracking, diagnostics, repairs, and support and is found under Warranty and Care.

The hub is not device-dependent. It displays information from any Galaxy products like the Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Buds, and Galaxy Tab that are linked to the account.

Onboard diagnostics

One of the most useful features is the diagnostics tool.

It can evaluate battery, charging, sensors, touch response, and connectivity and for any detected problems, either suggest a solution or put in a repair request.

Requesting a repair books users an appointment at a Samsung-authorized service center or can initiate remote support right on the device itself.

Bixby is integrated for a more chat-like way to guide users through resolving issues.

The hub lets users know what to expect when it comes to repair costs. It displays estimated repair costs, both with and without Samsung Care+.

While these features are now limited to Samsung’s most recent foldables, they should roll out to more phones along with One UI 9.

A return of familiar furry faces

Samsung is telling people about this with some creatures that we last saw at Galaxy Unpacked: AI guinea pigs.

After the event, the AI nature of the pigs was pilloried as another unnecessary addition to AI slop in advertising. And yet they are back here, dropping phones down the steps of jets and trying to pull a Harry Potter on the platform at King’s Cross Station and also manning Samsung repair shops.
