According to Ukrinform, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office reported this on Facebook.
"Investigators established that at around 09:00, the 23-year-old driver of a Volkswagen Golf was traveling in a lane designated for public transport from Yerevanska Street toward Umanska Street when he attempted to move into the second lane. In doing so, he collided with a Bohdan minibus traveling ahead," the statement said.
The prosecutor's office said that after the collision, the car went out of control and crashed into a public transport stop where people were waiting.
Two women were killed and four people were injured, according to preliminary information.
Under the procedural supervision of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, a pretrial investigation has been launched under Part 3 of Article 286 of Ukraine's Criminal Code, concerning a violation of traffic safety rules that resulted in the deaths of several people.

The Volkswagen Golf driver has been detained.
The pretrial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv.
On August 17, two BMWs collided in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district, causing one of the vehicles to crash into the outdoor terrace of a restaurant and overturn. A 36-year-old driver was injured.
