Rasanai is celebrating Onam with a traditional Kerala sadhya served on a banana leaf, bringing together a generous spread of festive flavours and time-honoured recipes. The meal features classics such as thoran, aviyal, olan, erissery, kaalan, pachadi, kichadi, kootu curry and sambar, alongside kuthari choru and parippu curry. To finish, there is chakka pradhaman and paalada pradhaman, with poovan pazham and sambharam.

Southern Spice, Taj Coromandel

This Onam, Southern Spice at Taj Coromandel brings Kerala’s festive traditions to the table with an elaborate vegetarian Onam plate, prepared using traditional recipes. The feast begins with ona sambharam, a refreshing spiced buttermilk infused with ginger, green chilli, and curry leaves, followed by a spread of festive favourites. The meal is rounded off with matta rice, sambar, rasam and parippu curry, while the dessert course brings ada pradhaman, paruppu payasam, alli pidi, and njaalipoovan.

Mex It Up, Teynampet

Mex It Up is bringing the taste of Thiruvithamkoor. Before Kerala became the State we know today, it was divided into kingdoms; one of the largest was Thiruvithamkoor, known as Travancore. “We will be serving the dishes my mother has cooked for years, recipes passed down through generations and recreated in our home,” says chef Kavya Verghese. For the meal, Kavya is teaming up with her mother Shirin Mammen.

Start with refreshing moru vellam, elda ada, then move to the main course with dishes such as beetroot pachadi, mathanga erissery, avial, kholrabi thoren, chena mezhukupuratti, olan, kurrukku kalan, inji puli, ulli theeyal with Keralam matta rice, parippu, and Keralam sambar. End the meal on a sweet note with desserts like mambazha payasam and aravana payasam.

Visesham, Nandanam

Visesham is celebrating Onam with a traditional Kerala sadya that brings together an array of festive favourites, available as a dine-in meal for two as well as a takeaway box for those celebrating at home. The spread features classics such as avial, olan, thoran, pachadi, kootu curry, chemba rice, mooru, pallakadan sambar, thalicha thayir, along with three different types of payasam: paal ari payasam, parrupu payasam, and paal ada payasam, and manga acahar.

From August 19 to 26, the dine-in meal for two is priced at ₹1,799 plus taxes, available from 12pm to 3.30pm. The Onam sadya takeaway box, serving two, is priced at ₹2,999 and is available from August 19 to 26. Visesham, Nandanam.

Kappa Chakka Kandhari, Nungambakkam

Kappa Chakka Kandhari is celebrating Onam with a traditional Kerala Onasadya served across August 25 and 26, bringing together an elaborate spread of festive favourites. The menu features cheru pazham, kootu kari, sarkara varattiyathu, cabbage thoran, nendrakai nuruku, avial, pavakka kondattam, payaru kondattam, red rice, pappadam, nei parippu, inji puli, sambar, olan, kalan, rasam, pineapple pachadi, beetroot kichadi, and a selection of pickles including naranga, manga and nellikka achar. The feast is rounded off with an indulgent trio of payasams: palada payasam, payaru payasam, ada pradhaman and chakka pradhaman.

Sashwatha Cafe is celebrating Onam with a traditional Kerala sadya featuring a festive spread of curries, accompaniments, and pickles. The Sadya includes classics such as paruppu, sambar, moru curry, beetroot pachadi, olan, rasam, cabbage thoran, pineapple kalan, mathanga erissery and avial, along with Kerala matta rice, lemon pickle, mango pickle, inji puli, sharkara varatti and banana chips.

The menu includes chakka pradhaman, palada pradhaman, chakka ela ada, pazham pori, dal boli, choru, matta choru, parippu, nei, uzhunnu chammanthi podi, mampazham madhura pachadi, vellarikka pachadi, kadhamba sambar, pineapple thakkali rasam, ulli theeyal, mathanga kootu curry, kurukku kalan, beans thoran, avial, olan, getti moru, moru kachiyathu, upperi, sharkara upperi, pappadam, inji puli, naranga achaar, manga achaar, yelakki pazham and vethala potlam.
