According to an Ukrinform correspondent, Aliona, who has worked at the market for 15 years restoring pillows, told journalists that her kiosk was badly damaged and her equipment was also destroyed.

"The market security called me at night and said there had been a strike. It was 01:37, and I came here immediately. [...] I started calling everyone I know, whose numbers I have, and telling them: come here, because there are looters," the woman said.

The strike hit a shopping complex, sparking a fire that destroyed all the merchandise. The basement of the building contained storage areas where wholesalers kept their goods. Business owners said there was a risk that the building could collapse.
