The complete series of Speed Racer is joining August's many 4K and Blu-ray releases with the launch of a Collector's Edition Blu-ray set on August 25. If that's got your attention, preorders are officially live for it at various retailers so you can secure a copy ahead of time. Amazon's even offering a little 17% discount on it right now, so you can scoop it up for $65.99 rather than $79.98 (see it here).
Preorder Speed Racer: The Complete Series - Collector's Edition (Blu-Ray)
- See at Amazon - $65.99
- See at Gruv - $64.99
- See at Walmart - $64.99 (OUT OF STOCK)
This Collector's Edition comes with 10 discs of the show on Blu-ray, all packaged inside a vibrant case. Amazon's store page notes that it also includes every episode of the original Japanese Mach GoGoGo. If you're a big fan, it looks like an excellent pick-up to have in your library. It's also worth keeping in mind that physical releases like this are quick to sell out, so it's worth grabbing now before that happens. Walmart's already out of stock, so don't wait too long in case the other retailers follow suit.
As mentioned before, August and the months ahead are full of exciting new physical releases alongside this Speed Racer Blu-ray set. If you're curious to see what else is dropping soon, and want to get some more preorders in, our rundown of upcoming 4Ks and Blu-rays can help you out.
That's not all for physical media lovers, though. If you're on the hunt for deals on older releases, Gruv (which is owned and operated by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment) has dropped an excellent “3 for $33” sale on 4K movies that's well worth perusing.
From The Big Lebowski to Dune to Casablanca, it's full of excellent options to check out, though they won't be available for long. Gruv's website says that the deals are available throughout August, and considering we're getting to the end of the month, it does mean the clock is ticking to save. So don't miss out on this chance to add more to your movie library.
