The Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) has commenced the refund of unused credit units on obsolete electricity meters surrendered by customers who received new meters under the DISREP metering programme.

The company disclosed this in a statement issued by its management on Wednesday, explaining that the exercise covers customers who benefited from the free DISREP meters and had remaining credit units on their old meters at the time of replacement.

“The refund is being processed in batches based on the submission of obsolete meters and successful verification of the relevant meter information”, YEDC said.

The company said refunds for 501 customers had so far been processed, while another batch was currently underway.

YEDC urged customers who had duly submitted their obsolete meters with unused credit units to visit their designated vending points to claim their refunded tokens.

It, however, assured customers whose accounts were not included in the current batch that their refunds would be processed in subsequent batches after the necessary verification and validation processes had been completed.

The electricity distribution company commended its customers for their cooperation and continued support, reiterating its commitment to serving them.
