Advertising Club Trivandrum (ACT), the community of advertisement and media professionals in Thiruvananthapuram, has invited entries for the inaugural Love of Advertising (LoA) awards. It will celebrate and reward excellence in advertising, media, design, digital communication and brand building from across India.

A statement issued by ACT says that awards will be given in a dozen categories. Works released between January 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026, are eligible to enter the competition. Those involved in the creation of a campaign can submit the entry, provided they meet the criteria. This includes advertising agencies, media organisations, clients, client partners, production houses, design studios, digital partners or individuals, as specified under each category.

Content creators and influencers can submit their entries in Creator-led Branded Content category. Agencies, individuals and students can submit entries in unpublished work categories. In addition, there is an Independent Creative Excellence category, which is for non-branded work from freelancers, in-house designers and studios.

The statement mentions that the 10-member jury has some of the eminent names from the industry and is headed by veteran Bobby Pawar, former chairman and chief creative officer at Havas Group. Laj Salam, president of ACT, says in a statement, “Through the awards we want to celebrate not just great campaigns, but the passion, craft and commitment behind them. Our vision is to build an awards platform that earns national respect while inspiring the next generation of creative professionals.” Vishnu Vijay, secretary of ACT, adds, “ACT was formed to create a vibrant community where professionals can learn, collaborate and grow together. The LoA Awards is a natural extension of that vision.”

Formed in February 2025 as a non-profit body bringing together advertising, media and communication professionals from Thiruvananthapuram, ACT currently has over 100 members. Filmmaker and advertising veteran R Balki officially inaugurated the club in March 2025 and actor Mohanlal released the logo.

ACT has carried out several initiatives since its formation, including interactive sessions, networking events, student outreach programmes, sports-based programmes and industry visits, the statement says. Notable among them has been a session to commemorate advertising legend Piyush Pandey by Sneha Iype, founder-partner and executive producer, Nirvana Films, and a knowledge session led by first Cannes Lion award winner and an industry veteran Senthil Kumar. ACT marked its first anniversary with an interactive session between Member of Parliament and author Shashi Tharoor and LV Navaneeth, CEO of The Hindu Group.

According to the office-bearers, through LoA, the Club has joined the league of prominent advertising clubs across the country that have been recognising creative excellence on a grand scale.

Last date for receiving entries is August 31. Details on www.loaawards.com
