Baker D. Chirico Brisbane
Bakery$
Almost every weekend since its 2024 Brisbane debut, Melbourne-born
Baker D. Chirico has had queues out the door. Locals and interlopers come for the sourdough (made using a 25-year-old starter), bombolini and maritozzi, of course. But there’s also a greater focus here on savoury sandwiches, rolls and croissants. The shop itself is a striking evolution of the Carlton original’s “breadbasket” design, with a curved timber ceiling and reams of white terrazzo on the floors.
Good to know: As of last week, Baker D. Chirico has (finally) started opening on Tuesdays.
