According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.

Starting at 18:00 on Wednesday, August 19, Russian forces attacked the Kyiv region with ballistic missiles, including Onyx, Zircon, Iskander-M and S-400 missiles launched from the Kursk, Rostov and Bryansk regions; 36 Kh-101/Iskander-K/Kh-59 cruise and air-launched missiles launched from the airspace over the Vologda, Kursk and Belgorod regions; eight Kalibr cruise missiles launched from Novorossiysk; two Banderol loitering munitions; as well as 168 Shahed-type attack UAVs (nearly half of them jet-powered), Gerbera drones and Parodiya-type decoy drones launched from Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from the temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea.

The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 09:30 on Thursday, August 20, air defenses had shot down or suppressed 31 Kh-101/Iskander-K/Kh-59 cruise missiles, eight Kalibr cruise missiles, two Banderols and 145 drones over northern, southern, eastern and central Ukraine.

Hits were recorded at 28 locations, while debris from downed targets fell at two locations.

The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace.

Twelve people were killed in Kyiv in the Russian attack on August 20.
