Agriculture Minister K. Atchannaidu has said that Andhra Pradesh has 9.26 lakh tonnes of fertilizer stocks, including 3.69 lakh tonnes of urea and 89,000 tonnes of DAP, sufficient to meet the projected requirement up to October 2026, and asserts that the new app-based distribution system has streamlined supplies.

Replying to questions raised by members N. Ramakrishna Reddy, V. Partha Sarathi and N. Eswara Rao in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday, Mr. Atchannaidu said the APAIMS 2.0 had reduced diversion, excess consumption and queues by scientifically determining requirements based on the cultivator, survey number, cultivated area, crop and agricultural university recommendations.

So far, 15.69 lakh farmers had received 3.70 lakh tonnes of urea and 1.10 lakh tonnes of DAP through the app, he said.

The Minister further said that the initial difficulties, particularly for tenant farmers and cultivators not covered by Webland, had been overcome by deploying RSK assistants at the Rythu Seva Kendras. Help desks, call centres, awareness campaigns and hand-holding were also introduced. The CSCs were enabled to assist farmers with pre-booking, with the Centre allowing ₹15 per transaction.

Replying to a question from Tanuku legislator A. Radhakrishna, the Minister said ₹14,664.33 crore had been deposited in the farmers’ bank accounts under the Annadatha Sukhibhava-PM Kisan scheme since May 2024. The State government contributed ₹8,903 crore and the Centre ₹5,761 crore.

He said 16,954 farmer families in Tanuku constituency benefited from the scheme. The financial aid was being transferred directly to the NPCI-linked bank accounts through the DBT, Mr. Atchannaidu said.

He further said some eligible farmers faced payment failures because Aadhaar was inactive or not mapped to their bank accounts. Such cases were listed at the Rythu Seva Kendras and on the Annadatha Sukhibhava portal to facilitate correction.

Returned or rejected transactions were similarly communicated to the districts, and payments were released after farmers rectified the bank-related issues. Field staff were monitoring the process and guiding the affected farmers, the Minister said.
