The Kerala Pulayar Maha Sabha (KPMS) has called on the government to intervene in the protest by Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University student Anagha Sasi over the alleged caste discrimination and harassment by her teachers.
KPMS State president Cheruvaykkal Arjunan and general secretary I.K. Ravindraraj said in a statement that Ms. Sasi, a research scholar at the Malayalam varsity, had faced caste-based harassment. They said the varsity had failed to act on her complaints.
They also alleged that the government had failed to take action against those responsible for caste discrimination against Dalit and tribal students in educational institutions in the State.
