Five major stars who could move before deadline day as Man United and Arsenal eye late business

Here are five players who could get big moves in the final days of the summer transfer window...

  • Julian Alvarez -The Argentine forward made it clear earlier this summer that he wants to leave Atletico Madrid to join Barcelona. Atletico are adamant he will stay, but he was left out of their opening La Liga game on Wednesday amid the transfer speculation, and Arsenal have also been keeping a close eye on Alvarez ahead of a potential late swoop.
  • Carlos Baleba -Manchester United have been showing interest in Baleba for the past 12 months and appear to be closing in on getting their man. They recently made a £60m offer for the midfielder, which is a little below Brighton’s valuation, but it is understood that a deal is likely to be struck before the window closes.
  • Bradley Barcola -The PSG winger has not featured in his side’s opening two games of the season, while Luis Enrique has been tight-lipped over Barcola’s future. The main sticking point appears to be the transfer fee, with PSG holding out for around £145m.
  • Enzo Fernandez -Manchester City have shown significant interest in the Chelsea midfielder, but the Blues wanted any deal to be agreed by last Friday, and that deadline has been and gone. Fernandez was booed by some Chelsea fans during a pre-season game last weekend, and City could look to test the waters late on in the window.
  • Kenan Yildiz -Another player being linked with a move to Arsenal. The Gunners want to bring in a left winger and missed out on Vinicius Jr after he signed a new contract with Real Madrid. They could now turn their attention to Yildiz, who is believed to be valued at around £60m by Juventus.
