Iran’s president calls for war to end ‘today’ from position of strength
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called for an end to the war while Tehran remains “in a position of strength and dignity”, warning that Iran would crush any renewed attack.
Pezeshkian described the negotiated agreement as a “major achievement” unanimously approved by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
“They cannot find even one clause in this agreement that indicates surrender; all the commitments are on the other side,” the Iranian Students’ News Agency quoted him as saying.
Pezeshkian said Iran should pursue peace without lowering its guard against possible deception.
“We will under no circumstances bow to bullying,” he said. “We will stand against them until our last breath and give them a crushing response.”
“War has to end at some point. It is better to end the war today, while we are in a position of strength and dignity,” he added.
