Atif Aslam pulls star-studded crowd to celebrate 'Subah Aye Na'
Celebrities including Fahad Mustafa, Asim Azhar, Talha Anjum, Hania Aamir attend event as singer marks album release
18 years after his last record, singer Atif Aslam held a gathering for his new album Subah Aye Na, bringing out fellow celebrities including Fahad Mustafa, Asim Azhar, Talha Anjum, and Hania Aamir for a night of music.
What turned the celebration into a talking point wasn't just who was there — it was how little overlap those names usually have. Mustafa, Azhar and Anjum were all seen with Aslam over the course of the night, with footage showing them singing on stage.
With Aslam's journey in music, Azhar's pop catalogue, Anjum's standing in the country's hip-hop scene, and Hania and Mustafa's dominance in television and film all under one roof, the room seemed abuzz with excitement.
Subah Aye Na is Aslam's fourth studio album. Released on July 31, it marked his first full-length project since 2008's Meri Kahani. The eight-track album marked a return to the format for an artist who spent much of the last two decades between films, Coke Studio and touring.
Aslam has been candid about what pulled him back to creating music, framing Subah Aye Na as driven by a desire to step away from commercially motivated projects and return to writing and composing music for himself.
The album follows a discography including Doorie and Aslam's 2004 debut Jal Pari — the album that first put him on the map with Aadat and Woh Lamhe.
The night of celebration suggested Subah Aye Na seemingly achieved what Aslam likely hoped it would: brought people back to the music.
