A trailer for Bass X Machina, the upcoming animated series, has been unveiled by Netflix. The series puts a futuristic spin on the story of legendary Wild West lawman Bass Reeves.

Starring Emmy-nominated actor Brian Tyree Henry as the voice of Bass Reeves, the series is produced by Studio Mir, the animation studio behind The Legend of Korra, Voltron: Legendary Defender, and Devil May Cry: The Animated Series.

The show takes place in an alternate version of post-Civil War America, combining the atmosphere of the Old West with steampunk technology and science-fiction elements. At the centre of the story is Reeves, a formerly enslaved man who rises to become a formidable deputy US Marshal while confronting a frontier filled with dangerous outlaws and advanced machinery.

The trailer reveals the series’ explosive visual style. Revolver battles, train robberies, and massive clashes involving steam-powered mechs feature prominently in the promotional video. Cybernetic enhancements add another futuristic layer to the Western setting.

The footage also highlights the contrast at the heart of Bass X Machina, blending the historical legacy of one of America’s most celebrated lawmen with an imagined world of mechanical warfare and futuristic technology.

Bass X Machina is scheduled to premiere globally on Netflix on November 3, 2026.
