FC Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde has decided to leave the club according to Jjiantes, citing anonymous sources.

“Alejandro Balde will not continue at Barça,” explained the reliable outlet.

“The defender has made the decision to seek an exit after the latest talks and feelings at the club. Jorge Mendes is working to find him a team in this final stretch of the transfer window,” Jijantes added.

The news comes after comments head coach Hansi Flick made at his press conference to preview Sunday’s 2026/2027 La Liga debut away at Elche.

“It’s a difficult question because he has enormous quality and it’s important to know if a player is convinced to be able to compete in his position. That’s what I want to see from all my players,” Flick answered, when asked about the left back.

"Every day I see what the players do - the level - and if they show me that they have the level to play. In the end, we have to play as a team, only then will we have success. I need everyone to be one hundred percent," he then added.

It’s currently unknown whether these comments have been the final straw in Balde making his decision. In any event, it appears that he has decided not to continue at his boyhood club after his agent Mendes met with Sporting Director Deco a few days ago.
