According to Suspilne Sport, Chepurnyi was the only one of six Ukrainian gymnasts to qualify for an individual final.

The vault was Chepurnyi’s first final of the championships. In qualification, he posted the second-best result with a combined score of 14.466 points for his two vaults, trailing only Armenia’s Artur Davtyan.

In the final, Chepurnyi performed his two vaults last among the eight gymnasts. The Ukrainian finished with a score of 14.566 points, securing gold at the 2026 European Championships and winning a medal in his signature event at the continental championships for the third consecutive time.

At Euro 2026, Chepurnyi will also compete for a medal on the parallel bars, where he will face, among others, his former national team teammate Illia Kovtun, who now represents Croatia.
