According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook in an update on the frontline situation as of 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 23.
The enemy launched two missile strikes using six missiles and 98 airstrikes, dropping 329 guided glide bombs. In addition, Russian forces used 11,859 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,318 attacks on settlements and Ukrainian troop positions.
Artillery fire hit Korenok, Ulanove, Bachivsk, Volfyne, Yastrubshchyna, and Luzhky in Sumy region. An airstrike targeted the area around Potapivka.
The Defense Forces’ aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck three areas where Russian personnel were concentrated, four UAV control posts, and one Russian command-and-observation post.
On the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk axes, Ukrainian forces repelled 13 Russian assaults. At the same time, Russian troops conducted one airstrike using three guided aerial bombs and carried out 67 attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements, including five using multiple-launch rocket systems.
On the South Slobozhanskyi axis, Ukrainian units repelled 21 Russian attacks. The invaders attempted to advance near Izbytske and toward Okhrimivka and Volokhivka.
On the Kupiansk axis, the enemy attacked twice toward Zahryzove.
Attempts to penetrate Ukrainian defenses were repelled on the Lyman axis, where Russian forces launched nine attacks near Lyman and toward Stepove, Shyikivka, Kopanky, Novoselivka, and Drobysheve.
On the Sloviansk axis, Russian forces carried out seven assault actions near Kryva Luka, Zakitne, and Ozerne, as well as toward Mykolaivka and Rai-Oleksandrivka.
On the Kramatorsk axis, Russian forces attacked three times toward Minkivka, Yurkivka, and Tykhonivka.
On the Kostiantynivka axis, 25 Russian attacks were recorded. The invaders conducted assault operations near Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, and Mykolaipillia, as well as toward Novoselivka and Stepanivka.
On the Pokrovsk axis, Ukrainian forces repelled 24 Russian attacks. The enemy was active near Bilytske, Serhiivka, Molodetske, and Kotlyne, and also launched assaults toward Novopavlivka, Shakhove, Kucheriv Yar, Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Myrne, and Udachne.

On the Oleksandrivka axis, Russian forces launched four attacks toward Andriivka-Klevtsove and Nechaivka.
On the Huliaipole axis, Russian forces attacked 15 times near Hirke, Charivne, Yehorivka, Vozdvyzhivka, Rivne, Dobropillia, Dolynka, and Verkhnia Tersa.
On the Orikhiv axis,Ukrainian forces stopped two Russian attempts to advance toward Pavlivka.
On the Dnipro River axis, Russian forces conducted no assault operations.
On the Volyn and Polissia axes, no signs of the formation of Russian offensive groupings were detected.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, the total combat losses of the Russian forces since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022, to August 23, 2026, amount to approximately 1,476,580 personnel, including 1,310 over the past day.
