According to Ukrinform, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, Chairman of the Board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, reported this on Facebook.
“In Odesa region, a jet-powered Shahed struck the locomotive of passenger train No. 147 Zhytomyr–Odesa. The Ukrzaliznytsia monitoring team announced the evacuation in advance, and the train was urgently stopped between stations, so everyone — passengers, as well as the train and locomotive crews — was safe,” Pertsovskyi said.
According to Pertsovskyi, there were 593 passengers on the train, including 15 children.
Arrangements are currently being made for the passengers to continue their journey to Odesa.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, on August 13, Russian forces attacked a train in Odesa region twice in one day, injuring a child.
