Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said this during her speech at a ceremony to raise Ukraine’s National Flag, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
Addressing Ukrainians, the Danish Prime Minister stressed that defending Kharkiv and Odesa also means defending Riga, Helsinki, and Copenhagen
“Denmark and the Nordic and Baltic countries stand with you. From the very beginning, we knew that this war could not be won with words alone. When you urgently needed weapons and ammunition, we provided them. When you needed tanks and our F-16s, we provided them. When you needed investment in your own defense industry, we provided it. And now, when you are in urgent need of strong air defense, we must promise to provide it,” Frederiksen said.
She recalled that Denmark and other countries had jointly committed to rapidly developing a new missile system to protect Ukrainian cities and strengthen Europe’s defenses.
“Our support cannot be measured in money. It can be measured by one simple promise: for as long as it takes,” the Danish Prime Minister assured.
