Early drama at the pool at the Commonwealth Games involving a lane rope has left two stars of the sport laughing afterwards but hoping it doesn’t happen again.

Australian breaststroker Zac Stubblety-Cook feared he may have to jump in the pool and locate a lane rope hook that fell to the bottom.

“They were debating which lifeguards can jump in,” Stubblety-Cook said after qualifying for the semi-finals of the men’s 100m breaststroke. “We got there in the end. That’s sport, right?
