According to Ukrinform, Serhii Kuiun, director of the A-95 Consulting Group, stated this on Ukrainian Radio.

"Unfortunately, the forecast is for prices to rise. Over the past week, our wholesale purchase prices have been higher than retail prices. In other words, if you were to buy a tanker truck of fuel today and sell it at current retail prices, you would be operating at a loss, effectively having to subsidize the sale. This indicates that prices will rise. As far as diesel is concerned, UAH 90 per liter is already clearly in sight. For reference, the average price today is around UAH 80. As for gasoline, we can definitely expect it to reach around UAH 85 per liter within two or three weeks, possibly even sooner," the expert said.

At the same time, he predicted that there would be no fuel shortage, as traders would bring in supplies and that the only issue would be the price.

Kuiun also explained that oil supplies, particularly to Europe, had declined due to the war in the Middle East. This, in turn, is leading to lower production and imports of petroleum products.

On July 23, the average price of A-95 gasoline rose by UAH 0.63 to UAH 79.03 per liter, while diesel fuel increased by UAH 1.30 to UAH 83.00 per liter.
