The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) has given allotment orders to 28,550 candidates under Round 1 of counselling.
Under this, 8,811 tentative allotment orders were given and 19,739 received provisional allotment orders. In the academic category, 8,016 tentative allotment orders were given and 17,034 candidates received provisional allotments. Further, under the 7.5% reservation for government students, 560 tentative allotment orders and 1,683 provisional allotment orders were also handed out.
In the vocational category, 175 tentative allotment orders were given and 886 provisional allotments were made. Under the 7.5% reservation for government students in this category, 60 tentative allotments and 136 provisional allotments were made.
According to a press release from the TNEA, the students who received their tentative allotment order should go to the TNEA Facilitation Centers (TFCs), as mentioned in their options, and submit their original certificates. They also need to pay the tuition fee as given in the allotment order to confirm the currently allocated seat and enable upward movement on or before July 30. Those who received provisional allotment must report to the college and complete the admission process by July 30 as well.
The officials added that if the seats were not claimed within the deadline, the allotments would be cancelled .These seats would then be allotted to students on the waiting in the same round.
