SEOUL, July 27 (Yonhap) -- The issuance of derivatives-linked securities (DLS) in South Korea rose some 30 percent on-year in the first half of 2026, data showed Monday.
The country's DLS sales came to 15.8 trillion won (US$10.7 billion) in the January-June period, up 29.1 percent from a year earlier, according to the data from the Korea Securities Depository.
Compared with six months earlier, the amount was also up 18.7 percent, the latest report showed.
DLS tracks the performance of interest rates, currency values and other underlying assets, promising high returns for risky investors.
As of end-June, the value of outstanding DLS had amounted to 42.3 trillion won, up 11.1 percent from the end of last year, according to the data.
