The acting Media Information Officer of OPHK, Capt. Mohammed Goni, said the terrorist surrendered to troops of 3 Battalion under the 24 Task Force Brigade on July 25.

The African Democratic Congress has accused President Tinubu of creating the impression that some victims of insecurity matter more than others, urging him to provide updates and timelines for the rescue of 176 residents abducted from Woro community in Kaiama, Kwara State, who have remained in captivity since February 3, 2026. The ADC also cited the recent abduction of 40 residents in Zamfara, and fresh attacks in Benue as evidence that insecurity remains widespread.

At least three people were reportedly killed and two others injured in a renewed attack by suspected armed herders at Elulu and Agadagba communities in Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State. It was learnt on Sunday that the attacks happened separately between Friday and Saturday night when suspected armed herders invaded the communities.
